Lisa Chafee • Owner
Owner Lisa Chafee began her career working with animals in Los Angeles, California. Her company pampered Southern California's finest pets and was featured in "LA's Best of the Best" magazine. Lisa is very involved in animal rescue/placement, animal welfare legislation, and is an active volunteer for EARS (Emergency Animal Rescue Service). As a pet owner herself, she is proud that the Animal Den Pet Resort & Spa fills the needs of Sacramento's most discriminating pet owners.
Lisa's recipe for a successful pet resort is simple: happy pets and happy employees. "I want to know that every pet that stays with us is safe, comfortable, and is being loved in the absence of mom/dad."
Besides The Animal Den, Lisa's passion is Australian Shepherds. She donates her time to Nor Cal Aussie Rescue and organizes a Meet Up Group for fellow Aussie owners. Her two rescued Aussies, Huck and Silky are here at The Animal Den greeting new guests daily.
Karen Murray • Manager
Karen has been at The Animal Den Pet Resort & Spa since 1991. She shares her home with her spunky dogs Toby, Ben and Rachel. Our guests can't say enough about Karen, and once you meet her, you won't forget her. She is responsible for the day to day operations that set the Animal Den Pet Resort & Spa apart from any other facility. Her "English Charm" can't be missed and we are lucky to have such a valued staff member!
Becky Casias • Assistant Manager/Resort Attendant
Becky is our most seasoned staff member. She has been ensuring wagging tails since 1991. Becky is known by the staff as being the "savior" of all injured animals she finds. Becky is responsible for the care, safety, comfort and enjoyment of the Den's guests and does a fabulous job. Her dog, Rose, joins her at work and doesn't miss a beat.
Nelly Taskar • Pet Stylist
Nelly has been grooming for 18 years and for The Animal Den since 2006. She has a big client following and her clients love her. She likes to talk to our "human clients" to really understand what grooming expectations they have for their pets. And she delivers!
Annette Arauza • Resort Attendant
Annette was born to work with animals. At a very young age she started rescuing animals. You will see Annette in our doggy playground providing the utmost care and attention to your pets. Her attention to detail is amazing and nothing gets by Annette when it comes to the care of our guests. She cherishes the different personalities and charisma that our guests have to offer here at the Den.
Julie Gonzales • Resort Attendant
Julie brought a lot of pet care experience to The Den in 2010. She volunteers countless hours to our local Sacramento Animal Shelter where she evaluates pets and conducts adoptions. We love her for being involved in rescue! Here at The Den she supervises our play groups and provides one-on-one attention that goes over and beyond.
Kelly Abrahamson • Resort Attendant
The Den was very lucky to have Kelly join our team. Kelly comes with a vast amount of animal experience. You will see Kelly providing gentle and wonderful care to our guests here at The Den. In addition to canines and felines, Kelly has a passion for her horses. Thanks Kelly for joining our team!
